The Next Four Years of Trouble : O
Well, I can start with the economy it affects the environment, politics, society, and everything around me. Whether there is global warming or not, money is needed to find more effective energy plans. President elect Barack Obama no doubt a great man and leader with great plans for the next four years, yet he is coming into an America with a colossal deficit, recession, two wars and so much more. In order for there to be change, money is a prime and necessary ingredient. So, this crisis affects my standard of living together with the other 300 million Americans. The recession will get worse in 2009 and than my prediction is that it will be followed by three miserable years of unemployment, social desperation, political turmoil. and environmental crisis. Its funny to think how much the economy can affect everyone in this country, but it can and it will. When I graduate from college my life is going to be full of obstacles; however, if Barack Obama puts all his assets and plans in effect there is no doubt in my mind that challenges will be easier to face. Hopefully, America unites and gets out of this 21st century depression.
No Technology!!?!!??!
When asked to go twenty four hours without any technology, the task seem simple, but than I realized that I check my e-mail at all times, my phone is always on, and music is always playing around me. So, I though it would be easy I was wrong. First of all my contact with people is mostly done through technology that includes using my computer and phone to contact my job, professors, friends, and so on. Second of all I was dissapointed to find out how much technology has become part of my life. Although technology makes life easier, it over simplifies in such a way that life seems pointless at times. I mean to write a letter or post card sometimes seems to have so much more meaning than to write an e-mail or send a text message, yet I find myself doing those things all the time. Appreciation for nature and human relations is lost in such a way that it prevents my generation from living life to the fullest, which incorporates all the things technology overshadows, like real emotions and worthy relationships. I mean if I write something on facebook and I don't get an immediate answer my first thinking is that I am disliked or something along those lines. Third of all, life seems easier without technology but accomplishable.
