Well, life after my bachelor's degree can be best described as uncertain; before going into what my life will be four years from now here are some personal facts:

Major: Political Science
Interests: Politics, environment, society, life =) FÚTBOL
Goals: Successfully affecting/influencing someone in a positive way that results in them being happy or at least touched.
Possibilities: Going to Edinburgh University next fall, law school after or peace corp.
Career Paths: Become a diplomat for Ecuador my country, work with an NGO, or become a professional student meaning continuing going to school and maintaining myself with random jobs.

Sandra Arteaga, my mother taught me that whatever one does has to be done with passion and utmost devotion. So, I am a political science major; the jobs I could get would range from teaching to possibly running a country. But what I want from my degree, is the opportunity to become a diplomat. A diplomat: a person who uses there mouth in order to prevent conflict. To me is like a mixture of a politician, a public servant, and a lobbyist(professional BSer). Not only would this be a job that I would perform with all the passion within me, but definitely with devotion.

The World I live in today is in need of diplomats or mediators whatever the preference of title at the end of the day they attempt to prevent wars between countries.

Unfortunately, here in Tampa I haven't met any diplomats but I have met great activist on of them being Mandy Hancock the Georgia/Florida coordinator for Southern Energy Network. She told me working for an NGO or as a activist is hard due to pay, headaches, and so on. While it seems like a horrible existence, the reality is that I am willing to live poorly crashing in people's houses if it means doing what makes me happy.

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending Florida's Sustainable Energy Youth Summit; not only did I learn about the Green fee or nuclear plants. The greatest lesson was meeting activists who been doing there job for over thirty years. So, the World might seem to be falling around me(bad economy, bad prospectus for the future,...) the truth is that the only thing left for me to do is ride the wave and hope to not crash!
