- In western society there is a sense of good vs. evil, it can be said that it applies to all aspects of life, yet each individual can make the decision of whats right or wrong on there terms because of our freedoms, as people who live in a democracy; ethics seem to be more of an option than an actual code to follow. Like many things in our consumer driven society, decisions are based on what we want not necessarily what is right, thus if a player wants to enjoy a good game of Torture they simply head to the video game host's website and torture a caartoon character. So, is Torture just an entertaining video game or another example of the deploration of ethics in western society?; well that's up to the player.
- Video games online are mostly free, accessible, entertaining, and a prime example of 21st century living, but these video games also have a dark side. Torture a video game were what the player does is simply torture someone with various weapons seems to break many ethical rules not only does it promote torture as a means of entertainment, it displays torture as something tangible. Ultimately, ethics can't be decided by me or society at the end of the day is the individual's choice. While influential Torture is not been pushed upon anyone, whoever plays it makes the decision; whether is ethical or not.
- Who said this is the way it goes like it or not; many have said that throughout history, yet in western society were democracy prevails and free is the only way to live ethics have started to become blurry. In the online video game torture, players torture someone without any compasion instead with lots of anger and malice. Some might see this game as thearapeutic in this difficult times of recession and war, yet do problems justify mistreating someone?; no. Torture is a video game the player decides wether is ethical or not.
